LYCOS CELEBRATES 10TH YEAR WITH NEW CONTENT RICH SITE
DESIGNED TO RE-ENGAGE LYCOS USERS

International Expansion, Cutting Edge Products and Services, Gets Lycos Back in the Game

WALTHAM, Mass.—July 14, 2005—Lycos, Inc.
(www.lycos.com), a leading provider of search, community and technology lifestyle destinations, begins the celebration of its 10th anniversary with a renewed focus on its more than 25 million users.

Over the past month, Lycos has expanded its global reach with its Wired News content and has launched several premier blog and photo album features. Additionally, the Lycos home page now provides extensive daily content including streaming video and audio, games, photo albums, blogs, horoscopes, news and more. Lycos also gives users easy access to Lycos Mail, and content navigation with Lycos Search, including web, people, yellow pages, shopping, multimedia and discussion search tabs.

"As Lycos celebrates its 10th birthday, our mission is to deliver content, products and services to re-engage our millions of Lycos users," said Brian Kalinowski, Chief Content Officer of Lycos, Inc. "The relaunch of our home page today appeals to our users who have appetites for all types of content. The recent partnerships and marketing alliances we've announced combined with our international expansion and product roll-out's, are just the beginning of the reemergence of the Lycos brand."

Lycos recently launched several cutting-edge products from Tripod (www.tripod.com), the award-winning web publishing, hosting and blog destination in the Lycos Network of sites. Tripod members now have access to the widest selection of blog and photo album templates, as well as mobile posting features for both blogs and photo albums.

Unlike other blog destinations, Lycos is the only site to offer highly customizable blog, photo album and photo printing capabilities all in one place on Tripod.com, allowing members or visitors to easily integrate photos, or audio and video clips. Printing capabilities are now provided through a new partnership with Shutterfly, Inc., the leading independent e-commerce company, specializing in digital photo products and services.

Recent Lycos initiatives also include marketing alliances with iVillage.com and the U.S. Army. Lycos has teamed with iVillage.com, a leading site for women on the internet, to promote customized lifestyle blog and photo album features, including baby and fitness blogs from Tripod's easy to use suite of web publishing tools.

Last month, to coincide with the U.S. Army's 230th birthday, Lycos launched Tripod for Troops (http://troops.tripod.com), designed to help soldiers feel one step closer to home and to serve as a destination where soldiers returning from war can continue to tell their stories. With Tripod for Troops, military families have access to military-themed blog and photo album templates to create online journals and post photos from digital cameras and camera phones.

In May, Lycos launched its award-winning Wired News (www.wired.com) content, to millions of Korean readers on Daum.net, located at http://wired.daum.net. Daum Communications Corporation is one of the leading Internet, media and e-commerce destinations in Korea, with a growing presence throughout the Asian markets, and the parent company of Lycos, Inc. Wired news content is now translated daily into Korean, as well as Japanese, which is unique to most online news organizations.

"The Wired brand reaches well beyond the English-speaking world," Kalinowski added. "South Korea is a true hot bed for technology, with broadband penetration and digital technologies that are far ahead of most areas of the world, making this an ideal place to present our Wired News content."
